ISLAMABAD – Isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Wednesday evening/night, Thursday and Friday.
Per Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating central parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave also prevails over upper parts.
Under these weather conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Potohar region, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday evening/night and the following two days. Hot and humid weather is likely elsewhere in the country.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 39-41°C on Thursday and 38-40°C on Friday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country and very hot in central/southern parts during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in Gilgit Baltistan, Potohar region and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Sibbi remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C. Maximum temperature in Gujranwala was recorded at 47°C, Dera Iismail Khan, Mandi Bahauddin and Dadu at 46°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 50 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 36 per cent.
