Pakistani Military and Taliban Troops Shoot Each Other Afghanistan Border Closed

The main border between Afghanistan and Pakistan is closed because military forces exchange fire with Taliban forces . The shot was heard throughout the residential area. Local residents reported gunshots around the Torkham crossing and said people around the border area were fleeing

Military officials who did not want to be named said the shooting had been going on for quite some time. However, there have been no reports of casualties. The shooting was allegedly related to the 2,600 km long border dispute between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Torkham border point is the main transit point for travelers and goods between Pakistan and Afghanistan who do not have sea access. The crossing has been closed several times in recent years, including a closure in February that left thousands of trucks laden with goods stranded on both sides of the border for several days.
